  1. 01Understanding the Creator EconomyThis module unpacks the foundational mechanics of the creator economy -  exploring why it has captured global attention, how it generates significant revenue, and the broader shifts in technology, culture, and industry that have propelled its rapid growth.
  2. 02Content and Business ModelsLearn how creators build thriving businesses - through smart content strategies, diverse revenue streams, and efficient workflows.

    We'll walk you through different formats that drive engagement and earnings, and how these models open new doors for collaboration, innovation, and growth in a shifting media landscape.
  3. 03How to Succeed in the New LandscapeExplore where growth is happening, from new platforms and revenue models to co-productions, licensing, and direct-to-audience formats.

    The session will also provide practical insights on how to evolve existing skills in storytelling, production, and talent development to remain relevant and valuable in this new context.
  4. 04Close the LoopIn addition to the Masterclasses, this program offers rare access to connect with leading voices from Screenwest, Changer, and YouTube - plus candid insights from creators behind some of the platform’s most successful channels.

    Whether you're seeking creative direction, industry know-how, or collaborators for the long haul, this experience is built to ignite new connections and fast-track your creative journey.

Program Requirements

In order to apply for the Creator Economy Playbook workshop you will need to meet some minimum requirements.

Active Content Creation

  • You must be able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to content creation, with examples of previously produced and published work. These do not necessarily need to be digitally-published, and could include short films, web series, YouTube series, documentaries, animation, television, or feature films.
  • You must indicate an enthusiasm about stepping into online content and learning more about the creator economy.

Residency Requirements

  • Individuals must currently reside in Western Australia and have lived in the state on a permanent basis for at least the past six months.

  • Teams must include at least one Western Australian resident who meets the above residency requirement.

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens or Permanent Residents, and aged 18 years or older.

General Eligibility

  • Applicants must also meet Screenwest’s general eligibility requirements as outlined in its Terms of Trade.

If you don't meet these requirements you may still apply, however you will need to outline why you feel you could benefit from the program in your submission.

What to expect

The workshop will take place in-person in Perth on Friday the 10th October.

It will be full-day experience running from around 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

We encourage you to get involved – it's a chance to learn, share ideas, and connect with fellow creators across the Western Australian community.
